Marianne Wu, PhD
Marianne is the President of GE Ventures, based in Menlo Park, CA.
She is responsible for GE Venture’s investment strategy spanning manufacturing & supply chain, energy & mobility, healthcare and life sciences, and emerging disruptive technologies like machine learning, robotics, autonomy, security, and IOT.
She is passionate about new business models and the opportunity for new technologies to transform industry, especially those at the intersection of digital and physical systems. Marianne is an experienced venture investor, start-up executive, and developer.
Prior to joining GE, she spent eight years as a Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, where she invested in leading technology and energy companies. Previously, she was Vice President of Marketing at ONI Systems and Consultant at McKinsey & Company. She started her career as a development engineer.
Marianne holds a PhD in Engineering from Stanford University and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia, where she also serves on the advisory board. She has also been named one of Silicon Valley’s Women of Influence, Top 10 Women in Cleantech, and a CVC Rising Star.
